Vacation

We bought a new sign for the trailer.  (And I haven’t killed the flowers yet, in fact, they are growing!)

And Gabe and Mommy came up for a sleepover!

Busy Days and Spring Flowers

I’ve not posted very much lately, but I have been a bit busy.  Three weekends ago, I went to Chestnut Hill College’s Honors Convocation, and found out that I had won the Sister Matthew Anita MacDonald Award in recognition of my academics, leadership and community service.  It was so wonderful to have my family with me as I was recognized for my achievements.

Two weekends ago, I attended graduation, where I was awarded my degree in Mathematics.

My brother came all the way from California to celebrate with me (and play with Gabe)! I even managed to get some knitting done.

This past weekend, we bought lots of lovely flowers to brighten up the campsite.

Vacation

Ahh, lots of relaxing and knitting.  I finished my embossed leaves socks:

And cast on a quick knitting pair of campfire socks (to be put away until colder weather).

Jordan joined us from Wednesday till Saturday, and had lots of fun eating strawberries,
building with an erector set, and going to the Strasburg Railroad.  On Saturday, his mom and Chris
came up and we all went to Herseypark!  More pictures to come soon.

And for all of you out there that don’t think we have to rough it – I found I didn’t have a pan for my cornbread,
and so Bob fashioned me one out of tin foil:

Memorial Day weekend fun

We took Friday off and went to the Green Dragon Flea Market.

We picked up these cute frogs and an Eagle’s flag.

After chilling with Beth and Andrew on Sunday,  the whole gang came up for a cookout on Monday.  Krista made an awesome apple pie.  If she posts the recipe, I will add a link to it (hint, hint).  There are lots more pictures in photos under  "Memorial Day 2008" .

Dillon being cute as always:

Jordan getting ready to go to the pool.               Zack, Kelly and Beth around the campfire.

Andrew napping.

Krista and Beth                                                Chris grilling the burgers

Can you tell we are in PA Dutch Country?

What a fitting picture for the Morgantown Pizza Hut speed dial on my iPhone:

Flashback – July 4th week, 2004

Haven’t been taking many picutres lately, so here’s a flashback from a few years ago.  We (me, Bob, Kelly and Colleen) went camping near Bushkill Falls.

Rock outcroppings fascinate me, I must have been a geologist in a past life.

Walking the 5 mile trail wasn’t so bad, except on the back end, when we realized we had to walk up as many steps as we walked down.
Although the falls were worth it!

Mother’s Day weekend

My shawl is finished and now lives at the trailer.

While I studied for my final, Bob put the railing on the deck.  He’s thinking of adding
a third set of boards towards the bottom, as small kids to come to visit us on occasion.

The kids gave me my Mother’s Day present on Thursday night, so that I could enjoy it on Mother’s Day.
(the swing can also be folded flat and make a nice napping area – way cool)

Note:  putting a swing together in the dark with husband is R rated for language – thank goodness no small children are near our campsite!

Weekend Retreat, Part 2

It was the first full weekend of camping in our new trailer

We spent the weekend raking leaves and hanging our sign:

Bob put together an outside sink, which also holds a hose.

We also set up our picnic area, with our ez up for shade.

Weekend Retreat

We just upgraded from a pop-up trailer

to a full fledged trailer, complete with all sorts of amenities:

and rented a site to put it on in rural Lancaster County, PA.

This is where we will be spending our weekends.
