Project of the week

I’m having trouble settling on a project.  I’ve started a few, but this seems to be the one I’m sticking with lately:

I think I started it because I made a mistake a few rows back, and now have to rip out a thousand or so stitches on this one:

I can only bring myself to do it for about 15 minutes at a time, and then must put it down, or risk crying.

Let the knitting begin

Where to start?

Current Knitting

I’m making a sweater called Alyce from White Lies Designs.  I’m using Classic Elite Premiere, which was purchased at Rosie’s Yarn Cellar.

Here is the short row shaping on the back, and details of the leaf motifs.

Lonely Knitting Circle

I went to knitting circle this afternoon, and I am hoping everyone else was on vacation, because sitting down on the patio was just wonderful.

My sock and I had a grand time smelling the flowers and enjoying the breeze.

Maryland Sheep and Wool Fun

Saturday, I went to Maryland Sheep and Wool.  I spent most of my time getting pictures of "Swatchy Green", a knitted doll that is sent into the world to have adventures and raise awareness of CFIDS.  It was a great way to meet people, further the cause of this dibilitating illness, and not spend too much money on yarn!

You can read more about swatchy by going to the Travels With Swatchy blog.

I ended up on a bus for about 4 hours, on a train for 40 minutes, then when I got home, in the car for an hour to go to the campground and put in the last sections of deck.  The pictures below are showing 4 four foot sections, and we added two more, for a 24 foot deck.  After a trip to Lowes for the railing, I think we have finished buying all of the materials we intend to for this year.  The goal is for everything to be set up by Memorial day.

Yarn Swap Gift

I joined a yarn swap, and arrived home last night to find the most wonderful package:

I am feeling a bit under the weather, and it was such a wonderful suprise!  Thank you Nancy!

Project Updates

My Anthracite Shawl is 28 rows and some darning away from being finished.

I would have finished over the weekend, but it was too warm, so I cast on a Morning Surf Scarf:
